I bought one from the garden centre last year on the sale section. Did well.

I kept it in a pot. About one size bigger than the pot it came in ( as per the instructions from the lady. )

When will I know if it needs moving up a pot size? It isn’t very big on terms of stems. Only has a few branches and is about waist height. Just don’t want to miss the signs for needing to go up a size.

If you put it in a bigger pot last year, it probably won't need another pot size up this year. They're quite slow growing. Just keep it well watered if it's in a pot

Brilliant. Thanks for the reply

They don't like being over potted, so if it's happy then leave it be. At the end of the summer check for signs of white roots coming through holes in the bottom of the pot, or gently lift it out and see whether the rootball is looking conjested. They can live a long time in quite a small pot better that I think than sulking in too much wet compost.

Leave it until you can see it’s root bound. They can be quite happy in pots for years.

I would repot it every 3 years. This time of year it should be fed with Sequestrene of iron. And again in July. When you repot it, lift it right out of its pot. Trim away the congested outer roots and shake off as much compost as you can. Then repot in ericaeous compost. If you want to keep it in the same size pot you can trim off more root.
