Mine germinated just fine outside in the zippy. They are very hardy.

I've just done mine today, too. Unheated greenhouse

I usually leave mine outside but I sowed a batch on 4th feb and they have take. their sweet time to pop up. Bought them inside over the weekend to encourage the last few stragglers then they are going out again.

I sowed a batch in a cold conservatory about a month ago and just left them to it. I now have a forest of seedlings. It's cold, but frost free and gets plenty of light.

I don’t know wether to bother with them again. I did two lots last year and both failed.

I have a pack ready to sow , they'll go out in the little plastic cover greenhouse .
They like a deep container for the roots so planning to start them off in loo-roll tubes filled with compost then they can go out when its time .

Warm windowsill until they shoot then straight into the greenhouse so they don't get leggy

Stupidly slow to germinate in the cold work greenhouse, perhaps not helped by mice deciding to eat them

I soaked my seeds last year, popped them straight into the ground. They were the best I’ve ever had. Hoping it works this year again but I’m not doing it until nearer the end of the month.

I started some about a month ago, seeds from last year's pods, and put them in a cold frame.
Then moved them out of the cold frame to make space and forgot to put them back in - remembered today, about three weeks later - and they're sprouting like champions!
I'll do some more from a packet too, probably start them inside as it's due to be cold for a bit longer. Will be interested to see how the abandoned ones do.
