Do you still prune roses that have started growing

My roses have started growing and I've yet to prune them. I was waiting until march because I'm in the north of England. Have I left it too late?

No, just do it as soon as you can.

No now is the perfect time to do it when you start to see new growth. It helps you see the dead/weaker stems you can then prune out.

Yes. It's seems so counter intuitive but you will get much better growth if you prune them now.

Prune, then feed.

This is the right time of year to do it. Don't worry if there's fresh growth. New buds will break below where you prune.

Well I hope it's ok because I've just whacked mine all down Grin

Is it okay to do if it’s still likely to be frosty? I’m in Scotland and it seems so early. Thank you!

I'm also hoping it's OK because it's what I spent this morning doing !

Fine to do it before they are in full leaf

Same! I saw little green leaves popping up and I panicked so I pruned yesterday and hope it's ok
