Not necessarily.

I wouldn’t pot it up until I can see roots coming out of the container it’s currently in

It is the time of year to take hardwood cuttings, but these take a very long time to put down roots.

Apparetly you also need bottom heat for winterberry.

I would definitely give it a go though.

RHS gives 4 suppliers. May not be online
You can also grow them from seed

Critical point - like many hollies they’re dioecious - male and female flowers on separate plants. So you’ll need two of them
