Has a retractable line across but it’s a bit hideous, wondering about a rotary we’d take down in theory after use but they’re huge. Any other clever ideas?

We have a rotary airer off to one side. We fold it when it's not in use and put a cover on it. The children played around it with no problem. The only times we ever took it out of its socket and put it away completely were for parties. It came with a 'plug' to fill the hole. It's a Brabantia, takes several loads of washing in one go, and is still perfect 16y on. I've only had to replace the cover.

Thanks Fuzzy , I maybe need to get a pole cemented in.

I have a rotary line at the end of the garden and have made a bed that sticks out into the garden with tall plants in it, so that the line is sort of semi blocked off it it's own sort of room. It's still visible but not obtrusive imo.

@Persipan I have the bag cover thing. It’s snug and neat, not baggy at all & we’re happy with it. Quite subtle.

Another vote for the Brabantia wall mounted whirligig.

I’ve had it for four or five years and it’s very good. Mine came with a black canvas cover which is fine

People who have the brabantia - do you have it with the silver storage box, the black bag/cover kind of thing, or neither? I'm thinking the box looks nicest, but adds another thing to go wrong, as it were (plus it's most expensive, naturally!) so curious to know how others have got on with it.

I have the black canvas bag and it's been fine. Stays pretty snug and looks tidy enough, for me.

K shaped garden here, we have a double retractable line which attaches to a sturdy fence
