SBK Tree Stump Killer

Has anyone got experience with using SBK Tree Stump Killer?

We have a number of stumps we can't dig out as it's causing the neighbours old fence to fall down. This stuff was recommended highly.

Does anyone know if it safe to use next to a (currently empty) veg patch and some small newly planted fruit trees? It says to use it in winter time only in grassland and non-crop areas. Obviously apple trees produce crops of apples but they are currently bare as it's January.

Anyone know about this please?
Thanks

What are they the stumps of? I'm assuming there's still life in them and they're sending up suckers.

@IcakethereforeIam 4 are dead trees that were dead when we moved in - I don't know what kind they were absolutely covered in ivy. 2 were Conifer type trees.

If they're already dead weedkiller will be wasted on them. If I were you I'd chop off as much as I could. Use a power tool, if you know how to safely. I think you can get tools for routing out roots, or pay someone to do it, or drill them full of holes and pour something in to encourage fungi which will rot what's left of the stumps. Yoghurt or milk that's turned. Obviously, option three will take time. You could use them as the bases for pots in the interim if they're broad enough.

I’ve not used sbk tree stump killer, but their weed killer is fantastic! You can hire a tree stump remover from jewsons/hss/other machine hire places, or there’s some videos online about drilling holes in them and putting stuff in it or burning it out (sorry, was not paying attention whilst DH was telling me about it 😳).

Thanks everyone. Well we tried to pull them out with a mini digger but it was causing the fence to start to buckle and it's not our fence it is our neighbours so we decided to go for this option. Someone recommended this stump killer, drilling a hole and pouring some in - they said it takes 6 months which is fine, no rush.

My concern is more around them being next to the veg patch because this stuff seems very powerful I don't want to kill off our crops! Interesting about the yogurt option.

Use a stump grinder to grind out the middle. Them leave to rot.

It is already dead. So anything that will be poured into a dead stump and invisible it in 6 months is likely to invisible all your other plants as well. And contaminate any groundwater around you.

I have a huge old dead cherry in the middle of my veg patch. I've drilled holes in it for insects and will keep drilling more holes until it weathers itself into sawdust. I've blunted a chainsaw trying to cut it down so drilling is my only option.

If my garden was smaller I'd get a tree surgeon to come and grind the stump out. But I'm tight, I like wildlife and I'm happy to let it just disintegrate over time.
