Patio fruit trees

I bought a pear and a cherry tree in containers which I replanted in my garden about two years ago. I realise now they are in the wrong place and want to move them. They are not very big.
Question is:- when would be a good time to move them? Can I do it now or will they die
Thanks

now would be perfect whilst the plant is dormant.

Ideally cut back the branches a bit as well to reduce the stress on the plant.

Thank you. Can you tell me if it will be ok to plant them straight into the ground and should they be watered in given the time of year. I will probably hold back until this bout of really cold weather passes

yes, better wait until the ground is no longer frozen.
yes I would still water, but not so much as you would in summer.

But continue watering all through the summer. They won’t cope with drought while they’re still getting their roots sorted after the upheaval of moving.
