Can you recommend a houseplant for these criteria?!

I don't know whether there's a plant that would fit these criteria!

I'm looking for something that is happy with bright, direct sunlight. It would be in a corner with windows on both sides, south- and west-facing. The spot gets very warm in summer but in winter the room is quite chilly - down to about 10 degrees at night.

The plant would need to be not too bushy, so as not to block too much light.

Height would ideally be approx 40-70cm. At 114cm it would hit a ceiling (a sloping ceiling in the corner of the room).

Maybe there's nothing that would work, but if anyone has any ideas, I'd be super grateful!!

Cactus perhaps?
Cereus tetragonus 'Fairy Castle' would thrive in these conditions; it's the right height, reaching about a metre tall after 10-20 years, and not too bushy (interesting shape). Also comes in variegated forms.

The jellybeans cactus, Sedum Rubrotinctum would also thrive in direct sunlight and be suitable size.

Or why not make a mini gravel garden in a shallow pot with several varieties?

Yes, it needs to be a cactus really, or a succulent like a jade plant if you don't want something prickly.

Sansevieria would work - aka mother in law’s tongue!

Rather than one big plant perhaps try a tiered plant stand and try several smaller ones or something hanging.

An aloe would work too.

I have Stretocarpus Susan in direct south facing sunlight all through my summer. It has deep pink o flowers with yellow centres all through the summer as long as I keep it well-watered and fed. It's survived 10 deg in the winter I think.
