Gardening gloves recommendation

Hi
I’d love a recommendation for some good quality, thick gardening gloves that I can get DH as a Christmas present.

He has an allotment and is forever getting stabbed and stung by the various flora and fauna out to get him…

Thanks!

I am likely to be the first of many ro recommend Gold Leaf . They have ,any thicknesses and styles for all jobs. Mine are over 20 yers old

I was just going to recommend gold leaf. They're brilliant

Gold Leaf are the best. They’re not cheap but they really last. Absolutely worth the ££.

They stay supple when they get wet and then dry out, touch enough to pull brambles, warm, comfortable.

Professional grower here - I'd recommend Showagrip gloves. For rough jobs Thermo 451 insulated for winter use, then Showa 310 for when it's not so cold. The ones I use day in day out are Showa 370 Assemblygrip, they're protective but still give you lots of 'feel' so you can do all sorts of jobs that are usually hard with gloves on. All cost under a fiver a pair, so you can also have several pairs & chuck them in the washing machine when they're wet / dirty.

Gold Leaf are the best. They’re not cheap but they really last. - just don’t try using them for dry stone walling Grin

i very much agree, mine are brilliant and DH has them too. Get the type with the longest gauntlet, they are indispensable when pruning.

Thanks everyone. I’ve bought all 3 styles mentioned here! The Gold Leaf long gauntlet ones for dry days and the Showa ones for damp days!

Possibly abit late but I run my own gardening business www.whitesidegardening.co.uk and I'd highly recommend Gold Leaf gloves especially for rose bushes and any thorny bushes.
