Had covid so been wfh, sleeping lots and doing some very gentle pottering in the garden.

got the alliums in, tulips in pots, daffodil’s in….lots of crocus put in randomly. A few in pots.

the trees I planted 2 years ago (blan canvas garden) are now showing lovely autumn colour. Cherry, amelanchier, Cotinus.

Just sieving my leaf mould today. In the sieve is the result since collecting it last November and December and putting it all into a builders bah. Never turned.

I am sieving it onto mole hill soil, to make a seed bed to sow another batch of winter greens in. 3/4 of the bed is mole hill soil. Then 2 inches of leaf mould sieved and mixed into the mole hill soil. Then 3-4 inches of just leaf mould. Everything thatis too big to sieve will go into this year's leaf mould bag, mixed in as I fill it.

It is such great stuff.

I have finished weeding our gravel drive. It took ages.

I didn't use weed killer so feeling very pleased with myself. I saw the first hedgehog in years about six weeks ago, so I wasn't prepared to risk it.

I planted tulip bulbs into my lawn and borders yesterday, something like 45 of them. It absolutely poured rain all day today, the roads are even flooded. I’m worried now that the bulbs will rot?

That’s lovely @MintJulia I always feel sad when I see that weed killer has been sprayed.
