Raised beds/border edging - steel vs wood

I've a section in my (small) garden which needs some tlc. The patio has borders around it which are currently retained by decking boards. One is a raised bed but could do with bring even more raised (is under trees which suck all the moisture out, so more soil would help). There is also a step up to the patio, again using a decking board), which is starting to give way - so that requires something strong to retain the weight of the area behind it.

All the other areas just need a less knackered edge between the paving and the border (or I could just leave them!).

I've had a look at corten steel edging, sleepers and woodblox. I'd be doing this myself with help from my husband - we are competent but not experts diy-ers.

I like the look of the steel but am worried about how easy it is for amateurs to use it. www.steelscapes.co.uk/steel-edging-self-fit/

Woodblox seems more straightforward (think giant Lego pieces) but I'm less sure about the look. www.woodblocx.co.uk/

Interested to hear in any experiences of doing something like this.

I’ve used Everedge.

Have used their lawn edging, very robust.

Ive used their tree rings to create beds in a gravelled area of front garden.

And I’ve used their beds system to create a rose path through my garden. Will try to find a link to this. Bit of a faff to put together, but it’s been in for three years and still looks as good as new. From memory, you can basically create whatever sized bed you want.

found it easily! It’s not cheap, but it’s Sturdy. And, as mentioned, it still looks exactly the same three years in - no rust, warping etc.
