BBQ Log Cabin and treehouse - thoughts please?

Hi, I am thinking of buying one of these and was wondering if anyone here had one? If so could you share your experience with me. I was thinking of getting builders to build a platform in the trees to put it on so that it is like a treehouse, install it without the BBQ for the earlier years and then add it in when they are in their late teens (children are currently 10 years old). I was planning to install a rope ladder and bridge off of the platform. It works out a lot cheaper than getting a treehouse company in but I am wondering if anyone has ever done anything like this before and if so, did it work?

A bbq up a tree???

Only in the summer @TheSpottedZebra , in the winter OP can keep warm in front of the log cabin’s fireplace.

You are likely to need planning permission. Why would you bbq up a tree, seems very impractical.

My DC were early teens not late teens when the treehouse/climbing frame turned from tree house/pirate ship/explorers den to a quiet place to hang out and eat whatever crap they’d splurged their pocket money on.

Planning permission needs to be checked on f it’s more than 2m high from ground level.

BBQ in a tree or under a tree will harm the tree (where is the hot smoke going?) and is a fire risk.

If I understand you aright, a platform up a tree with a log cabin on it, that’s too heavy for the tree to support, you’ll need to have it standing on its own pillars.

I think a standard log cabin would be too heavy for a tree, and I worry for you that the builders would either build it unsafe or damage the tree - there’s a reason treehouse companies are more expensive, it’s a complex job.

You’d need support pillars, and thus planning permission.

BBQ in tree will damage tree (plus fire hazard) and spatter log cabin with grease. Bbq much better on ground.

Thanks everyone. You are probably right about the bbq in the tree.🙈 I am having a rethink!

Bbq in a tree?!

That's a lot of hassle for a sausage and a burger op Grin
