so we left our peace lily with our neighbour when we went on holiday.
we did say when to water and how much but i think it's been given too much water 😞 the pot is actually heavy.

do you think it can be salvaged and if so, any tips will be welcomed!

thank you

Well.... I'd say that soil looks dry rather than soaked.
You either need to dry it out, if it's as over watered as you think, or water it if it's dried out...
Our peace lily gets watered about once every 2 weeks when it dramatically collapses due to lack of water. It picks up about an hour after a soaking.

I rescued an over watered plant by repotting it in fresh (drier) compost with perlite to aerate the soli, albeit not a Peace Lily. There can be a fungus that grows on the roots that rots them, so rinse the roots off if they look brown, gently dry on kitchen towel and repot. It may take quite a while to recover as it has to grow new roots.

The soil looks bone dry in the picture though? I've got an extravagant peace Lily that does a very dramatic flop if deprived of water, but like a PP says is usually revived within the hour with a good drink.

Take it out of the pot and look at the roots and soil around them. If they are wet and the soil, it doesn't need watering. If they are dry which I suspect they will be, water the plant whilst it is in a bowl, a cereal or pasta type are ideal. You can also see how much they are taking up. When a house plant is watered from the top this tends to compress the soil meaning that there isn't as much oxygen around the roots.
You shouldn't allow plants to collapse due to lack of water as it puts them under stress, and they will ultimately not grow satisfactorily.
I hope this helps.
