Hard to see from the pics, and i'm no expert - but is it common sorrel?

SheWoreYellow · 10/08/2022 17:38

Weeds I think.

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 10/08/2022 17:42

I think it’s common sorrel too, namely a weed 😊

IcakethereforeIam · 10/08/2022 18:52

What did you think they were? I think I agree with pp, but I get all these docks and sorrels mixed up. There's a weed called fat hen, which looks similar and used to be grown for human consumption.

LadyGardenersQuestionTime · 10/08/2022 18:59

Fat hen. Prolific weed. Probably edible if you're desperate but I rip it out by the handful at the allotment

Good to know! The seeds were meant to be poppies Confused.

Thank you all.

It’s a Chenopodium (goosefoot), several species, Fat Hen is one (Aztec Broccoli is another). Not just edible but good. Like spinach but doesn’t boil down to nothing. I grow another Chenopodium called Magentaspreen , which grows 30inches high and has improbably magenta coloured new shoots, look great in a salad

Definitely not sorrel, different family.

Thank you all.

I’ve tried to grow poppies from seed a couple of times and got absolutely nothing.
