Last big drought here (Australia), we had containers in the shower to catch water that was used on the garden.
we have a big rainwater tank.
we also rigged the washing machine so that the rinse water went to the garden

@Weenurse Im definitely going to look into whether we can do that with our washing machine. Grand idea!

I have a minute garden, so don’t lug bath water around. I do use washing up water (when there’s not too much detritus in it)

Bit right now I’m only watering about 6 large pots frequently and a couple of plants in the raised beds that are looking heat stressed. Everything else is taking its chances (or I’ve just let frazzle)

No hosepipe ban here, so that’s the most convenient way of getting water to plants (when I need more than used household water) but will switch to filling a watering can when the much-expected ban arrives

We use washing up water. We wash up then let the water go cold and use plastic jugs to pour the water onto the plants. Once the bowl is light enough we tip what's left onto plants.

Yes I use washing up water on plants in the garden. I use water from the dog bowl for my indoor plants

Not the washing up water as I don't use a bowl, but I do save the bathwater for watering veg beds. My kids keep leaving water in their glasses and just abandon them, I collect them in the mop bucket and use it to clean the floor with, then that goes on the the other plants.

We’re leaving in bath water and trotting up and down stairs with watering cans. We don’t wash up by hand so that’s less relevant. I’m very relaxed about a bit of slightly soapy water on our plants.

We saved the water from showers and a bath this weekend and were easily able to move it from the bathrooms to the garden using a hosepipe and gravity (no pump). I used a Hoselock product that treats the soaps in the water (although we use only Ecover mostly). I normally use it to treat the water butt water. I want to get one of those Japanese sink and toilet combos where the sink water flushes the toilet!

Yes I’ve been using my bath water last week or so, no hosepipe ban just yet but it doesn’t feel right using it right now. So up and down the stairs with a bucket, probably 10 litres or so at a time. I do one bucket then have a rest! But my raspberries have gone from looking like they’re dying a wilting death to looking quite perky now so will keep it up until the rain appears.

Although we’ve got some forecast for tmro, it may not even scratch the surface as it’s so bone dry out there.

Not normally but I am at the moment. Not yet a hosepipe ban here
