North-facing window box suggestions

Looking for suggestions for what to put in a north-facing window box in a typical London victorian mid-terrace. Something fairly low maintenance would be great. In terms of style i really like clean and simple, nothing to frilly or flowery!

We had box hedging in it recently but it didn't last long and turned yellow. Lavender would be another good option but i hear it doesn't like shade. Any ideas?

Heuchera, ferns, hosta, some geraniums are ok with shade.

Also astilbe

If it were me I'd probably have one variety of different types. Eg. Different ferns, or different coloured heuchera or astilbe.

I find that the small bedding Begonias do well in North facing pots.

Thanks - i think i'll go for some ferns, sedges and perhaps astilbe to give it a little colour.

A small variegated ivy to dangle over the front edge can be attractive too, and will be evergreen, so provide winter interest. Astilbes disappear completely in winter.

I would do ferns, ivy and heuchera. The three different textures and colours provide a nice contrast (I like the dark red heuchera but you can get a few different colours if you prefer something more low key).
The ferns will probably die back in winter which is when your ivy will really come into its own.
If you want flowers see if you can get some violas and swap out the heuchera
