Hi,

My son has bought a plant home from preschool. He's determined its going to grow a purple flower. I think it looks like watercress and want to explain to him if it is so he is not waiting for weeks for a flower that won't come. Can you please help!

Is this watercress?

Yes, that’s fine. I’d probably left them till a little larger - the true leaves are only just appearing - but you seem to have got them across all right. You can plant them a little deeper than you have, but they'll sort themselves out. Until they’re settled and growing away, keep them out of the sun. They’ll be very susceptible to drought at this stage.

Ohhh ok thank you will move them!

Hopefully they'll start to romp away now OP! Post another pic in a few days let us see how they're going? Isn't growing things fun? So satisfying. (Occasionally heart breaking when things don't quite take!) 🌿

I really hope they grow! I don't seem to have much luck but my son is really invested so 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Still too early to id, but nothing in that picture is inconsistent with the suggestion of free purple cornflowers from Morrisons.
