Bigger bushes or larger plants.

I am looking to sectioning off a small part of my garden.
Not really looking for hedges as such. But bigger larger plant / bushes. Maybe flowering ones that are large enough to create a barrier.
I’m new to this. And I have been looking. But I really don’t want to spend this amount of money without ideas from people who actually know what they are doing … like you lovely people.
Has anyone got any ideas?

The area is mostly shady in the morning and sunny in the afternoon.
I’m looking at adding in some hydrangeas as well.
Any help would be helpful Smile

How about a rose hedge? They look great.

This site has a lot of ideas www.hedgesdirect.co.uk/

I’d think about a wildlife friendly hedge. Do you want evergreen or is it ok if the leaves fall off in winter? A mic is nice. You could also choose planes that have fragrance in winter.

Or plant a couple of trees.

Hedges need cutting and maintenance.

I’m considering putting in a Rosa Rugosa hedge this year. My neighbours have a camellia one which is absolutely spectacular at the moment.

We just planted a hedge of sibiricus dogwood. I have several dotted around the garden and they have lovey bright green leaves and white flowers in spring, then the leaves go a gorgeous red and leave bright red stems in the winter.

My established ones have got to about 2m.
