Which would be best? Anybody had success with any in particular?

I have strawberries in the ground, in plastic window boxes, in light shade in very heavy permanently moist to sometimes waterlogged soil and previously in a glazed terracotta strawberry planter (those oddly shaped pots with multiple holes).

I think in the ground is best as they can spread then but my window box ones grow fine.

The strawberry planter for me wasn’t great, not enough room and they dried out quickly.
I find that strawberries grow better when the soil is kept fairly moist.

I have loads if strawberries in the ground, but Woodliffe got to them last year so have transplanted to pots/troughs, would also consider one of the strawberry planters. For me, the motivation is to be able to cover to protect fruit. I think something you can move would be good if you want to hasten/slow ripening by controlling how much light they get

I’d go for plastic troughs for value, or a wooden planter /terracotta strawberry planter for looks

Agree with PP. My hanging baskets and fancy pot dried out too quickly.
I'm planting mine in an old Council recycling collection box this year. It's a decent size and should be easy to net

I've had most success with a plain, large plastic trough.
