Planting for shade, under trees

I have two gaps, at the end of my garden, that I’d like to plug for screening purposes. There is currently a row of Holly trees. I want to screen the log pile, compost heap, and fence that is about 12 ft behind the row of trees but is brand new and so very bright and obvious. I currently have about 7 Rhododendrons and 3 Camelias that are all doing well and flowering beautifully there. There’s also a couple of variegated shrubs, not sure what they are, also doing well. There’s two largeish gaps I’d like to plant in to but I’m not sure what else would do well there. It’s at the end of a South facing garden and gets a bit of sun, but one corner is very dark and gets virtually no direct sun. I’m looking for something biggish, evergreen, but hopefully with some colour at some point during the year. If that’s a different point in the year to the Camelia and Rhododendron, all the better. Any ideas?
