I've got a strip at the side of my house that is south facing and gets absolutely baked by the sun come the height of summer- there's a hydrangea there at the moment that pretty much gets cooked come August!
The space is about 7 metres long and the soil isn't great quality- it gets very dry in the summer, although I'm adding lots of organic material to try and improve things on that front. I thinking of re-planting it with some scented shrubs, I've got my eye on a Philadelphus, a Lilac and a Wisteria trained on the wall, simply because they all seem to be sun lovers and put a huge smile on my face when I see and smell them in someone else's garden! But what gorgeously scented sun lovers would you recommend I add to my sun baked patch?
