Can indoor citrus trees work in UK?

Was in a garden centre yesterday and they had miniature citrus trees and the smell was amazing, it reminded me of holidays. I don't have a particularly warm, sunny house so would it likely just die? My fiddle leaf tree died recently, I suspect from the cold/lack of sun, so would a citrus tree be more or less hardy? I'm not so worried about it giving fruit, but would like it to flower.

My mother has one which has been flourishing indoors over winter. She has it on a sunny balcony the rest of the year. I think if you have a cold dark house and your garden doesn’t get a lot of sun it won’t work.

I've had one for the last 15 years in my cold conservatory. It thrives on neglect and o only water when dry. I feed it citrus food and give it a Chelsea Chop at the end of spring and then it goes outside in a very sheltered space in the garden and not in full on sunlight.

Lemons and then kumquats are easiest to grow in the UK I believe due to their hardiness/temperature requirements. Although they like light, warmth from central heating etc would not be good for them so somewhere cool and bright would probably be best anyway.

I've got a lemon in a very sheltered spot in the garden. It currently has lemons on it. I've grown others from pip (this one is a hardier variety I bought.) Usually, the pip ones love a few years before dieing, and a couple have flowered (though usually nor.) The ones from pips won't be do suited to a British climate, do buying a hardier variety makes sense.

I have a calamondin orange on my lounge windowsill - it's doing great, but it is on a south facing window. It's had loads of flowers over the past month & now has 3 baby oranges.
I'd love a lemon & lime too.

Yes my DM had a few of them for a few years. If I recall they like sunshine.
