Putting things outside

Hi all, as title suggests can things go outside yet I can't remember from last year! Mainly broad beans and mange tout, I'm running out of space on my window ledges, I have a greenhouse but don't want them to die if I put them out! Currently outdoor temp around 10 degrees most days, we are in the North of England. Thanks

There's a risk of frost until May I think? So unless they are ok with frost I'd keep them covered at night.

Broad beans and mangetout are hardy. They will withstand cold temperatures but if you have had them indoors then I'd probably put them outside during the day for a week or so and bring them in at night. Our broad beans are in the cold frame at the allotment (in the north east) and are about 6 inches high. They will be going into the ground as soon as I find time.
Yours will be happier in the greenhouse than a warm rooom I should think.

Broad beans can be sown directly in the ground at the moment, so they will be fine provided you harden them off first as jane suggests. Mangetout aren’t quite so hardy but the same advice applies
