Just got some bargain clematis for £4 from B & Q - they're reasonably established - not the tiny little seedling ones. However, one of them is a clematis armandii, which, i'm just discovering, is slightly frost sensitive and prone to not surviving cold winter winds. should i just pot it up in compost for winter rather than putting in the ground? Then plant in ground in spring. or will it be okay to put in ground now and make sure to cover in mulch in winter? I've been making trellis for them so dying to get them all planted but don't want to risk losing them. It would be against a south facing wall with other shrubbery around so reasonably sheltered. However, I'm in Scotland, so, quite cold winters obviously. Thanks in advance for any tips!
