If so, are you happy with it? Can you post a link please? I don't trust Amazon reviews.

Bought one a few years ago. Didn't expand. Returned it

SunshineCake1 · 21/10/2021 22:00

Lasted about three days. Great in theory. Leaked in no time.

Londoncatshed · 21/10/2021 22:05

Have bought about 3 or 4 over the last couple of years. They always, without fail, spring a leak, even the last super duper extra strong one. They generally last us a month at most. Great when they do work though.

I have this one, it’s fine so far but have only had it a couple of months, be interesting to see how it holds up over winter.

I bought this two years ago and love it. It's made watering my garden so much more fun. And it's really easy to keep tidy, unlike a traditional that gets twisted.

I’ve got the hozelock one - had it 5 years.

2319inprogress · 21/10/2021 22:08

I think that's ⬆️the one we have too
It was on offer in BnQ sometime before the plague actually must be at least 3 yrs ago & it's brilliant. We are very neglectful gardeners & it has be left out all year including snow & it still going strong.

RepentBirthingPersonFucker · 21/10/2021 22:09

I don't know which I've got but not expensive and in its third year. I love it

Thighdentitycrisis · 21/10/2021 22:16

Yes it is meant to be stored in the shed overwinter I think - had mine outside for several years and I have sometimes bought replacement connectors if they perish

balzamico · 21/10/2021 22:24

Had my first one 3 years and love it. It sprung a leak after being left with the tap on (so expanded) for a few hours but it does get dragged over walls and steps. I replaced it with the same as it's so easy to use.

KingscoteStaff · 21/10/2021 22:41

Had 2, both chewed to bits by foxes…

Pickles89 · 21/10/2021 22:42

Damn, I was getting excited about the Hozelock one but apparently you aren't supposed to us it with a pressure washer, which is what I wanted it for. Anyone used that combo anyway regardless?

CrazylazyJane · 21/10/2021 22:47

Yes. We have a Hoselock and pretty sure DP has used it with a pressure washer a few times. It's still going strong. We went through several in a short space of time because foxes kept chewing on them and puncturing them 😕 but so far so good with the Hoselock.

AlwaysLatte · 21/10/2021 22:49

They're good but you don't want to stand on it. Pop! Gone.

sakuramiyagi · 21/10/2021 22:56

We bought a hozelock one. It was pretty temperamental due to water pressure and then after a year it split down the side.

I wouldn't waste the money on another one.

Mischance · 21/10/2021 23:02

They are useless.

MrsRubyMonday · 21/10/2021 23:10

We bought a cheap-ish one from homebase at the start of the summer, runs off our kitchen tap so the pressure isn't high enough to fully expand it normally but it works great for us

Isausernameavailable · 21/10/2021 23:17

If it's the putting away that's the issue have a look at self winding hoses. I love mine.

We’ve got a hose lock one, probably on my third in 6 years. I find them really easy to use.

But, once building work has finished I’m going to get a retractable one instead to go on the wall. hozelock. As I think that will be far more durable.

Isausernameavailable · 24/10/2021 23:36

That's the one I've got 'just cannotbearsed'. Best thing I've bought in years. I love it.

LemonSwan · 24/10/2021 23:42

I have one - love it.

But what I will say is you should empty it everytime. So buy a male to male to stick in the end to relieve pressure when your finished with it.

littlestmunchkin · 25/10/2021 08:06

Had one last year but it was all leaky after winter, then I realised it wasn't frost hardy so have brought my replacement indoors for this winter - fingers crossed! Works really well but if this one does I might just get a traditional .

FudgeOff · 25/10/2021 08:25

We have one and it's good but not in winter - they pipe and/or the gun never seem to survive a winter.

As the only thing we use a hose pipe for in winter is cleaning boots, we now bring it in this time of year and swap it for a short piece of normal hose with a smple nozzle on the end until the winter frosts have passed.

In short: I think they are good and much easier to use than a traditional hose, but not very robust.

userxx · 25/10/2021 13:04

I love mine. So much lighter and better for my back.
