Easiest vegetables to grow

I am already planning for spring Smile and would like to turn a fairly large (ish) area that gets lots of sunshine into a vegetable patch. I already grow a few things in large pots so not a complete beginner.

What is the easiest thing you grow in terms of pest damage and yield? (Not worried too much about space and happy to buy some materials)

TIA

This year was our first at trying to grow veg so it's been quite experimental! Things that turned out well with little effort were: sweetcorn, rainbow chard, sugar snap peas, onion, garlic, cucumber, carrots, pumpkins, broccoli, spinach and pak choi. This that didn't amount to much were squash, strawberries (planted too close to the pumpkins) and tomatoes. I'm trying cauliflower this winter and working on a proper plan for next year rather than the more haphazard approach we took this year.
