I'm new to gardening and would like to get a hydrangea, preferably a white one. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Apologies for the obvious typo!

Standard hydrangea or climbing hydrangea? We’ve got both....the white climbing hydrangea is particularly attractive

Standard, I think. I've got a new build garden so open to ideas!

We have Limelight which I love - flowers start a bright lime/white then mature to a clean white then slowly get a pink tinge towards their end.

We have Limelight too- the flowers are beautiful and very long-lasting

Another vote for limelight. Longlsting and beautiful.

We’ve got Annabelle. Beautiful round white flowers very upright on bright green foliage. It’s gorgeous.

Ironically just been researching this!

I was looking for rounder blooms but I think little lime is hitting all my other key hydrangea likes, smaller version of lime light.

If you want blue you must buy blue and keep the soil at the right ph with feed.

I love climbing hydrangeas too.,

I'm trying to think about what climbs above, possibly clematis armandii (either the white or apple blossom.)

I have 3 Annabelle hydrangeas which have massive white floweheads absolutely gorgeous. However after rain they get so heavy they end up lying down. I have now bought an Annabelle hydrangea that is designed to stay upright but has not flowered in its first year so can’t comment.

I've gone with a little lime. Apparently it's a smaller version of limelight so should be a good fit for my small newbuild garden! It's not looking great right now as it's clearly passed its best but it was half price at £7.50 and I'm hoping it'll take for next year. Fingers crossed, anyway...
