This came to me as a Mother’s Day present - marked white perennial. Clearly not white and no idea what it is but it’s gone bonkers in the best of ways and has flowered multiple times and shows no signs of stopping. Any ideas (and praying it is a perennial because this coming back every year would be amazing). Thanks in advance - have had more positive identifications from this thread than any app has given me so far!

It’s a mallow, but I’m not familiar enough with them to guess which one. There are some annual varieties but if you were given that as a substantial plant on Mother’s Day it must be a perennial. They’re good doers - I’ve seen several lovely ones this year and want to get one for myself.

Gardeners’ World has the lowdown on lavatera (mallow)

@TalesOfDrunkennessAndCruelty - thank you! Clearly I am going to have to move it from the front of the border though - it’s already taking over, but it’s glorious!!

Great user name too Smile

Thank you! One of the reasons I replied was because I liked your username, too.

I agree Lavatera (which isn’t Mallow, but is in the Mallow family, along with Hibiscus)
