Cordless mower and strimmer

I've just moved into a house with a garden that needs some attention can anyone recommend a decent cordless mower and strimmer please ? It's not an enormous garden but I need something that will be robust and cut / collect well and the battery will give a decent length of use per charge . Whilst I don't want to pay a fortune I would rather pay a sensible amount and know it's going to be up to the job and last . Thank you 🙏

I find most battery operating devices (!) start out OK but gradually become less powerful and the charge lasts less and less time.
A lawnmower and a strimmer both require a lot of power to function effectively.

However I'm watching to see if anyone can suggest a good cordless mower as I would like one but I'm just not convinced they are up to the job but I'd like to be proved wrong!

I have a cordless flymo that does the job ok. I can do my mid sized garden on one charge and it’s light enough for me to carry up steps and lift in and out of the shed. The waste capacity isn’t great so I have to empty it regularly and it gets jammed up if the grass is damp though.

I have a Bosch Rotak cordless mower, and been very happy with it! I think the charge lasts about 40 minutes, but my average sized lawn only takes about 10 minutes to mow. It leaves a nice finish too. Not cheap, though, I think it cost approx £400.

Last year I bought a new cordless strimmer for the edges - a Black and Decker, which also works well bout £78.

@nanthewiser
That's interesting, I think of Bosch as being a good quality make. Do you know what model yours is? Thank you

Thank you , I will look at both the Bosch and flymo

@TwoLeftSocksWithHoles this one but it appears to be discontinued now (mine is about 5 years old). No doubt there is a newer model out now.

We've got a greenworks electric mower & strimmer that has 2 batteries and does our large garden in one go - I'd recommend it.

Bosch cordless mower here. It’s on its fifth year and still doing well. Amazon has a deal on when I brought it, it came with an additional battery free of charge.

It’s lightweight and easy to use. I’d definitely get another one if this one ever dies.

I've used a push mower in the past and found it pretty easy to use. I expected it to be hard work but a decent one with sharp blades wasn't at all. Might be an option?

Watching with interest re the strimmer. Am trying to decide if battery or petrol is better?

We bought a Makita cordless lawnmower earlier this summer - excellent! And the batteries can be used in all their other DIY products too.
