Suggestions for climbers for pergola

I’ve never had climbers so know nothing about them.
I now have a pergola and have a planter for each side but don’t know what would look good climbing over the pergola and would be grateful if people could suggest climbers that are attractive but not ones I will have to hire someone with big ladders to pull out of the house gutter in a couple of years!
Do I go for clematis or honeysuckle? One of each? Are there other things that would look good & that would be beneficial for the bees?
Thanks

IF you go for clematis, go for Montana, they are the most vigorous ones.

Clematis Montana is good for early in the year, but the other types are nice in summer.

Tbh for a pergola that size I'm actually serious about more planters - I think you want several things and see what works. I'd have honeysuckle and summer flowering clematis growing over something else. The tricky bit with that is getting things which can be pruned at the same time, I've not paid enough attention to that myself.

You can add easy annuals such as sweet peas or nasturtiums as well.
