When to start training roses?

Hello, any climbing roses experts around? I have two obelisks and I planted two roses for each. They were bare root plants, I planted them in March and I thought I would let them grow for the first year and then start training them. However they’ve all gone a bit bonkers, not much length yet but loads and loads of branches and tons of flowers, so I was wondering if it would be ok to start training them now?

I’ve googled and found loads of stuff on how to train them but not when - what age or what size they need to be. I don’t want to ruin them or stop them growing/flowering, so I’m happy to wait if that’s the right thing to do.

I'm not an expert but I have started training mine (planted earlier this year) and they appear happy and still flowering with it.

My thinking is it's better to manipulate the stems while they are young and supple. I have an overgrown rambler which hasn't been trained and it's much harder to get older thicker stems to go where I want them now.
