We have recently planted one in my front garden and wondering what it’s going to look like when it’s bigger around this time, please can anyone show me? Smile

I have one of the tall slim varities rather than the shorter bushier ones.

@Wbeezer oh I didn’t know there was a difference! I have no idea what I’ve got. How old is yours please? Is that the bushiest it goes?

It's about 3 years, but I bought quite a big one. It's a lot less bushy than the usual one but I bought from a specialist tree nursery, most will be the usual bushier shape.

@Wbeezer ah I see, I’ve just checked and mine is Amelienchier lamarckii and looks like this, mine was from a big nursery also. I think mine might be the same as yours.

I think mine is "Robin Hill" but i lost the label. I have been removing the odd branch to keep it a nice upright shape with a clean trunk, to fit the space.

Chasingsquirrels · 21/07/2021 23:37

Mine is yet to go in the garden. I know where it is going, but the is a fence there atm which needs removing and new fence putting up in a different place before I can plant it.
1st pic of a few at garden centre when I brought it, 2nd in large pot when I got it home.

Mine is a Robin Hill and looks like Wbeezer’s! Although shorter as it’s only recently gone in. Sorry can’t help with more established photos.

My SIL has a well established one and from memory it’s still quite a delicate tree - you can see through it iyswim - not dense.

StarlingsDarlings · 23/07/2021 00:59

Haven’t got a photo to hand but I have one and would agree with mini that they aren’t a bushy tree. Definitely more decorative than for screening.

nembrotha · 23/07/2021 05:26

I think the same varieites can be bushy or tree-like depending how they're pruned when they're young

nembrotha · 23/07/2021 05:30

Photos are a couple of years after planting. One of my favourite trees.

Try again.

Mine's rather hidden by the crocosmia!
