Cat pooping on my lawn!

Hi; sorry if this isn't the correct heading to be posting under. A local cat is pooping on our lawn every night (or early morning) the same side of the lawn every night. Been happening for around a week. I've completely hosed down the lawn and garden and also put cinnamon all over the lawn. This has not helped the cat returned last night and has pooped again on the lawn.

Please can anyone help, what do I do? We don't have any pets and the fact I'm cleaning up someone else's pets poo is getting me down (not to be helped with pregnancy hormones)

We’ve tried the sonic deterrent ( battery powered) in the front garden, open to the street.
Seem to take a week or so to deter the cats.

In borders we’ve put down branches/sticks where we’ve noticed poo.
Theory being they don’t have an steady surface to go and watch out for ‘danger’.

We’ve thrown old tennis balls at them when we see them mooching about too.

Basically create disturbance enough times that they can’t be bothered and find a quieter place.

A fox used to sunbathe on my neighbour's shed roof. There was no easy route for it to climb onto the roof, it must have jumped very high / run up the shed side. Fences are no obstacle to them.

Hi all, to update, we ended up using curry powder and my partners urine the past few nights, so far it hasn't returned the past two nights!!

@Applecrumble24 hi! We had one poop turn up around 4 days ago, we got it up and then I put fresh curry powder down again and it hasn't been back since. Going to keep putting fresh curry powder down until hopefully the cats out the habit

So you are putting the powder down around once a week?

Yes 1 full tub a week, I have a fresh one to put down tomorrow too

@Applecrumble24 such a pain isn't it :-( hope it works for you too, if you can get a male to leave some urine in the area too, my partner has also been doing a wee in the garden in the dark every other night. Not sure if that's helped but I know when the curry powder had gone; the urine never deterred cat alone. Good luck

Yes, it drives me mad. I used to like cats until this!
We live on a main street so not sure dh would be up for that 🤣
I'll let you know how I get on with the curry powder though!
