The leather for my hands is covered in mud and so is very still. Any ideas please?

I find mine soften up sufficiently if I wear them and scrunch my fists vigorously for an uncomfortable few minutes. I've wondered about fabric conditioner or hair conditioner but never tried it.

But my current pair are washable - I don't know how they've done it but they don't stiffen up after being wet. Like these (except mine are dusky pink)

Wash them as little as possible and then while still wet rub in some oil - we use olive.

Dh wears leather hiking boots, and I use his leather conditioning cream https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005YPOB3I/ref=cmswwrcppapiglttiGBACFQC5TB0MKVP2NXPW

I wash my gloves while still wearing them (or else put them on again wet) and then rub the cream in as if I was moisturising my hands.

Get some leather dressing, ko-cho-line is good and work into the leather. It will soften and help to waterproof it. We've used this for years on saddlery and harness that has had a hard life and dried out etc, it does the job well and isn't expensive.
