How often do you water in a polytunnel?

I know there's a range of factors to be considered including what's grown, location, temperature, soil type etc etc but I'm just wondering how often people water the veg growing in their polytunnel if you use one?

I keep hearing/reading a lot of conflicting information so wondered how often people watered, particularly in summer months and how you decided...was it 'when required' or tried and tested experience?

The beds dry out so quickly in my tunnel that it's really been watered on most days but I think I'm doing little and often rather than a deep watering every couple of days and I'm not sure it's helping the plants any Confused

I do it daily - salad, toms, beans etc. Potatoes only need once a week though, otherwise they go scabby!

I feel like I've got no clue anymore! Was doing it daily but then past week or so have switched to every second day more deeply unless there are seedlings that need more....I keep reading that watering deeply but every couple days is better for roots but it's been about 30 degrees in tunnel every day so not sure now Blush

I do mine every second day at the minute - but it hasn’t been very sunny and I leave the doors open during the day - otherwise it’s unbearable. If we get wall to wall sun, I do it every evening as everything sets out so quick.

I'm gearing towards every second day more deeply watering but we've had a bit of a warm sunny spell and it's roasting in there. Seriously considering a drip irrigation set up for next year! It's taking me about an hour easily to water everything

Every day if possible, but sometimes it has been every second day. Our max/min thermometer has been reading 49 max recently so everything is baking in there! We've got toms, cucumbers, courgette, spring onions and a few summer cabbages at the moment. We're new to a PT so this summer is a big learning experience really.

Oh us too I'm completely inexperienced at growing so I'm trying to learn polytunnel ways as well as general growing ways and I'm finding it's a whole different ball game with a polytunnel. Most people seem to be watering every day (ish) which is contrary to what I'm reading but I think a lot of knowledge comes from experience which I'm lacking in so far!
