What colour shall I paint this wall?

As per title Grin
The garden is small, so I'm after a colour to make the wall appear further away. Not keen on white as it'll be a lot of work to keep it looking smart.
What colour would be good, I'm feeling bold so open to any suggestions. Thanks.

Black. Our gardener suggested this with ours and I really wasn't convinced, but now it's black it looks amazing. Any colour or foliage in front of it really pops and it doesn't look as self-consciously trendy as I'd feared.

A light bluey-greyey-green

I've just painted my fence bright blue and I love it! Looks so cheerful! Be bold!

Pink. Preferably dusky pink. One with orangey / brown tones rather than any blueish tones. A plaster pink might well work nicely too, not baby pink or fuchsia though.

It’d be well worth looking at apps where you can try out colours TBH

I painted our wall black and despite most people initially being dubious of my idea, have all said how great it looks!
This summer I am going to do the other wall in the garden black as it looks so fab!

I would go bold. One of my neighbours has an orange wall. It looks amazing. Cobalt blue is also stunning.

Cheeseplantandpickle · 10/06/2021 13:10

Bright pink. Why not?

Cheeseplantandpickle · 10/06/2021 13:11

Either of these

What about a dusky pink like the walls of the houses behind. I think you have pinkish gravel. If the wall is a dull dusky colour it won't stand out.

Peachee · 10/06/2021 13:28

I would do sky blue/baby blue

@cushioncovers

Something pale otherwise you'll feel hemmed in. Dark colours make you very aware of boundaries and how small a space is.
I think the opposite. Black disappears. We were told that by a couple of garden designers too. Having said that, I wouldn’t go too dark if you aren’t breaking it up with any plants. Sure you don’t want a few bamboo in pots?
