So I put these fence posts at the back of my border. Have clematis and climbing rose and a climbing hydrangea that will take a couple of years to get bigger.

The nylonl string I bought has snapped in a couple of places already. What would you recommend for a long term solution?

Was looking at galvanised wire like this: www.wilko.com/en-uk/wilko-galvanised-garden-wire-15mm-x-20m/p/0299029

I would prefer it if it somehow blended in. Don't want my garden to look like a prison whilst I wait for the climbers to mature. I also heard hydrangea don't like metal. Should I avoid the galvanised metal then?

I use wire coated in dark green plastic, attached to the fence with rows of vine eyes. You can get different thicknesses - I wired my fence when we moved here over 25 years ago, with the thinnest type, quite a lot of it's still ok though I've had to replace some sections. Wilko has some

Though possibly for to tension it the distance between your posts you might want a bit thicker.

I've got some climbing hydrangea on a brick wall with no support - I just use canes in front of it to hold it back against the wall until it attaches. (No idea if that's a normal way of doing it but it seemed to work)

Thanks will take a look. Yeah, the tensioned wires might be better otherwise it will droop but are the tensioned ones all metal?

Did the climbing hydrangea damage your wall at all? My wall is not in great condition (see pic) and don't want to weaken it. Is it easy to do some DIY pointing?
