Hello all,
I love plants, I have kids of house plants that are thriving, however my garden is crap.

It has so much potential, and I really need to
Invest time into it but I have no idea where to start.

I have no motivation but need some. So
I thought I could have a thread where I try to
Do something each week to make a difference to it.

I need to tackle the dog poo, get dp to do the grass and tackle all the weeds, when it stops raining!

What are the best other jobs to do in the rain?

And then some herbaceous perennials and self-seeding annuals basically behave the same, appear from the ground each spring and die back each autumn. Whether their roots/tubers remain or they regrow anew from seed the result above ground is effectively the same! I think at least.

I potted up my “jumbo” plugs that arrived. I haven’t really worked out where to put them yet, so they can grow up a bit more before I plant them out. Also means we won’t have to work around then when we’re painting the fence!

Weeded, mowed and sorted the hot tub

Yeah, they’ll grow from any scrap of peel with an “eye”. If you grow the baby potatoes, you might get big potatoes next year

I think at least except The seedlings might be in a completely different place, whereas the perennial will of course be in exactly the same place

Good work @bjjgirl and wow you have a hot tub? Definitely need to get the garden spruced up so you have some pretty to look at while you bubble!

I’ve had some family visitors who have helped me paint my new fence, now a lovely slate grey and looks great. Day to myself with DP today but think I’ll do some pottering as we can, maybe get a few more things planted and potted up.

I find planting things into the garden a little intimidating - if these plants are going to be there for years and years what if I get the placement wrong!

Yes the hot tub was one of my dps man toy ideas, we do train sport to elite level so should use it daily! As we train 2-3 hours a day, however, we don't use it as much as we should, my dds on the other hand love it!
