I feel like I'm losing it because I planted this shrub about 2 years ago and can't for the life of me remember what it is! Obviously likes where it is as it's growing well. Any help will be gratefully received. TIA

A cotoneaster?

Beekeeper1 · 30/05/2021 08:07

Pyracanthus (Firethorn)

tanstaafl · 30/05/2021 08:12

Does it have spikes? If so as @Beekeeper1 suggests Pyracanthus.

Or escalonia?

Plumpciousness · 30/05/2021 08:20

I've got both cotoneaster and pyracantha and I don't think it's them. Cotoneaster has distinctively flat splays of branches. My pyracanthas are at the blossom/pre-berry stage and are more leggy than dense bushy. Does it have thorns?

Hi, if you download Google Lens on your phone you can take a picture of anything you want to identify. It sometimes gives American names (being Google) but mostly works really well. I use it on walks if I see a plant I like but don't know what it is.

Looks a bit like a ceanothus to me. The little flower buds before they flower seem similar.

Cotoneaster has distinctively flat splays of branches Only some species.

TheDiddlyGang · 30/05/2021 12:57

I think it might be escallonia

MrsBertBibby · 31/05/2021 11:05

Osmanthus or escallonia are my guesses. Does it flower?

ImaHogg · 31/05/2021 11:14

I have several different Hebes in my garden and it looks similar to those.
