Courgette plant problem

Hi,
Some of the leaves of my (yellow) courgette plants are developing grey-brown patches with a withered, crispy, slightly velvety texture.
I’m also starting to see brown spots on the tiny female buds Sad Does anyone know what this is, please?
I've potted them up a couple of times pending better weather for planting out. I don't know whether it's a disease, over/under watering, or anything else...
Any info gratefully accepted!

Your plant doesn’t seem to be in a traditional plant pot. Does the container have drainage holes?
You mention buds, my courgette plants are still really quite small, larger than yours, but don’t have buds yet. I wouldn’t expect them yet.

Hi Bee,
I actually sowed them mid-March instead of in April. Went into autopilot with all the sowing despite having made a schedule... The plants have lots of male flowers now. I’m in NE France, though I doubt there’s much of a difference with certain parts of the UK. Weather has been dire and planting out will be delayed so have had to scare up some pots large enough to pot them on, although you’re right - they don’t all have holes. That said, the plants had the same problem back when they were in proper plant pots. I’ve got some larger plastic containers that I can make holes in to see if that makes a difference. And maybe try sowing a few more to see if that changes anything.

I’ve found new homes for a couple of them, will repot the fourth one tomorrow.

They are small to have flowers. They definitely need drainage holes. The ones I grow look robust before they flower. Maybe a different variety.
I’m putting mine outside soon, in large 40cm pots.

I’ll try sowing more, if it isn’t too late. It probably didn’t help, sowing these so early. (I had noted mid April for sowing). Three of the four pots now have drainage holes and I think I’ve been overwatering them as well. So no more water for a few days now. Thanks Smile

I have found that things which are too wet tend to go yellowish, like yours are. If you can dry them out a bit, I would have thought they'd go back dark green and start to flourish. You've got a good start - my courgettes are nowhere near flowering.

Courgettes don't like to get too damp around their leaves/stem, but ironically love lots of soil water when flowering.

Thanks, I’ll cut back on the watering and try to find a happy medium so that they get enough water but not too much.
