What plant is this?

Pulled this up while weeding around my newly planted lavender, once i pulled it out, the roots didnt look like any other weed ive pulled out, is it a weed or is it a 'something' plant?

My knowledge of gardening is non existant but i really want to try and learn enough to have a nice front garden!

@TheNoodlesIncident thank you so much! I put glysophate round up down last week and may have doubled the concentration to water volume..... Hasn't bloody touched it!!!

Unfortunately I have ground elder too. But I still think maybe yours is bleeding hearts. Here's mine: first pic is the ground elder and the second the bleeding heart leaves.

If it is bleeding heart, then you can see the sense in the rule never to pull up something until you have identified it.
