Tall but narrow evergreen shrub needed

I have a north west back garden and the rear wall benefits from sun pretty much all day due to the position of the other houses around me and that part of the garden is also elevated from the house.

I have a gap in the planting I wish to fill between a 6ft acer and a 5ft (what I believe is) an euonymus. I already have mature laurels and photinias so would like something that won't destabilise the wall and won't grow wider than 3- 4ft. I will of course prune it but need it to go upwards rather than outward.

I am happy to pay for a mature 6ft+ shrub but I am not a gardener, I love my garden but am not knowledgeable about plants. What would be a great plant to fit the gap?

Any help would be hugely appreciated.

What about a choisya or a ceonothus.

Thank you Mary, I already have a choisya (didn't know until I googled your suggestion Grin) but the ceonothus is simply stunning. I shall look into that.

What about a small cypress? This will grow tall and narrow naturally so not a lot of clipping involved. Goldcrest cypress is a bright yellow green. Or Lawson cypress is a blue green colour. Some juniper varieties grow in a similar tall pointy shape.

As it’s NW facing, how about a Camellia, they don’t like morning sun so the aspect would be good. You already have an Acer, so the soil would be suitable and they don’t mind a bit of pruning after flowering.

How about an upright [prunus/cherry

These are all lovely suggestions. Thank you.

It does get full morning sun due to the position of my house, but I realised I would like something that flowers. There are lots of mature shrubs in the garden at the back but not many flowering plants, so I have tried to add them in where I can. There is no real depth to the border and I can't increase it.

I am learning a lot about plants today.
