Does anyone know what this is?

They came with my valentines bouquet, a couple of twirly twigs for decoration. After a couple of weeks, I moved them to another vase with the flowers that were still looking ok, and they started sprouting. They have a few roots and quite a bit of leaves growing, so I was wondering what they are and what to do with them. They’re currently in a glass with water, I was thinking of putting them in a pot with compost?
Thanks for any help Smile

Looks like curly hazel to me

Honeysuckle perhaps ? Can you get a close up of a leaf ?

GuyFawkesDay · 16/03/2021 12:11

Willow I suspect.

This is close as I can get without getting out of focus - hopefully it helps Smile
Thanks everyone

Corkscrew willow (salix matsudana 'Tortusa'). They like it fairly damp so if you put it in a pot, keep it well watered in dry spells. They can also grow enormous so maybe only plant it in the ground if you have a very large garden.

Twisted (corkscrew) willow. Let them grow a bit more then plant them up and see if they take.
You can get either twisted willow or twisted hazel. I have a beautiful, massive twisted hazel in the garden, I'm always cutting bits off to stick in vases and pretend I can arrange flowers.

Corkscrew willow.
My neighbour has one, it’s the most gorgeous, striking tree.
And not that big actually, it’s been there since I moved in nearly ten years ago

Brilliant, thank you Smile My garden is fairly big but I’m a bit weary of planting any potentially big trees as there’s a level difference of at least 4m between us and the neighbours behind and I’m scared of roots damaging the retaining wall. I’ll put it in a pot first and see how it goes! Thank you once again, much appreciated Flowers
