Which screening plants/hedges can grow and stay in pots? Complete novice!

Hi all, I am desperately looking for privacy screening for the back of the garden along a fence line. Ideally we would prefer to have something that can grow and stay planted in a pot to sit on top of stones. We would like something that is leafy all year round and can grow to 6/7ft. The width would be around 6 metres and we will have trellis on top of the fence. We are complete novices so something that doesn't requite too much maintenance. Thanks in advance!

Bamboo, there are several posts around at the moment. Or Laurel or Photinia. Plant the in the biggest pots that you can, Stewart do large 50cm ones.

Bamboo is lovely.
For an instant effect have you looked a rolls od faux hedging?

First you erect your fensing as high as you can and this attached.

It can be extremely effective if you want instant privacy and greenery.

It's available in all garden centre's.

If your trellis are sturdy you could definitely attach it to it.
Also look into Willow screening which can be attached you your trellis for privacy.

Bring photos to a big garden centre and ask for advice.

Hedging will take a few years to grow, but the suggestions ive made could give you great intermediate privacy while hedging or bamboo grows.

Thank you all, I did look for the other posts about bamboo but couldn't find them. Are plastic pots the best to go for? Also is there any particular type of bamboo?

I use plastic pot, I know they’re frowned on, but they are cheap, light to move and don’t dry out as much. If you do use them, buy straight sided ones, otherwise it’s difficult to get the plants out when you want to repot them.
I’ve planted golden bamboo, it’s quite common from garden centres.

Bamboo spreads like wildfire.
Its like a weed.
Thaats why people suggest pots, for containment.
Infact, despite the plastic containers, they sometimes spread.
They are hardy.

Google bamboo for the different types.
