Shrub suggestion for windswept garden?

My garden is a bit of a challenge. Even the crocuses were flattened by the wind over the last week or so. But some things do ok, even if they all grow at an alarming angle 😂

So, does anyone have any suggestions for a shrub that will grow to around 1.5-2 meters high and that can cope with these kind of conditions?

The location I have in mind get full sun and has neutral soil. There’s a mock orange in there at the moment, which seems ok with the windspeeds, but just isn’t growing at all, so I think it’s time for it to go

Elaeagnus / Oleaster. It seems a bit bigger than you wanted but you can always prune it.
Or spindleberry or senecio.
Can you tell that I have similar problems?Smile

Choysia are good hardy plants, with fragrant blossoms. They will grow pretty much anywhere and are easy to prune if they get too large.

I have Choisya x dewitteana 'Scented Gem' and Choisya x dewitteana 'White Dazzler', they're both great. The White Dazzler seems more floriferous.

It's listed here so should be ok in a windy spot: www.daviddomoney.com/planting-for-areas-with-high-wind/

Hebes definitely - I grew up on the coast and the slope down to the prom had loads of them. I can't remember what else, but looking at exposed coastal locations may give you some more ideas.
