Which house plant to choose?

I’m looking for two house plants to go in a slightly awkward position.

We have two long tall windows with fairly big sills (almost floor to ceiling windows). I’d like to have a tall houseplant in each window.

They face south, but I would say our garden is pretty closed in so it’s not a massive sun trap for months and months in summer. Just to add to the complexity I have big tall radiators either side of the windows.

I should add that I am very good at killing plants so looking for something foolproof.
I was pondering either kentia palms or aspidistras. I’m not sure they will be ok with the south facing windows though. I think yuccas would work but I’m not massively keen on the look (too ‘trunky’ if you see what I mean).
Does anyone have any clever ideas to save me from shelling out on plants that I immediately kill? Thank you so much!

Not sure plants would do well near radiators!

There are some very good fake plants available now. That may be more cost effective.
Plants hate radiators.

Fiddle leaf fig?
I have killed many plants in my time, but I have a massive FLF which seems to be very hardy. (it too is in a South facing window next to radiators).

Aspidistras like shade, so a S facing window might be an issue.

I have orchids on my S facing window ledges. They don’t care about the radiators, in fact I think they like them. I have several that get moved around and put in prime position when they get a flower spike.

I have two Petra crotons in a sunny south window directly underneath a big radiator.
I have to keep up the watering in winter else they dry out but they do great.

Mine are in small pots and about 40cm tall but they reach big heights outside in sunny climates so given enough light and a big enough pot they would probably grow quite tall for you.

Thanks so much for all the advice. I’ll have a little think and decide what to buy!
