How do you clean a Parlour Palm?

The leaves of my parlour palm have got somewhat dusty - any tips on cleaning it without damaging the foliage? I tried with a damp e-cloth, but felt as if I was risking damaging it...

I use a fluffy duster like this fluffy duster

It's really soft but does this trick when I use it on the weekly clean. Saying that I doubt if I remember to clean it weekly.

Ooh, I didn’t think of that! I have some of those in a cupboard somewhere and will try it later... on a large-leafed plant, like a Swiss cheese plant, I used to polish the leaves with a banana skin, but the parlour palm leaves are much smaller and more crowded (this is my first houseplant since the 1980’s so I’m out of practice)...

You can also stick it in the shower for a few minute! Most houseplants really like that

I spray my house plants with the hose on a gentleish setting. Then leave to dry for a little while outside.

I have a parlour palm and use cotton wool dampened with warm water to remove dust and dirt and then dry cotton wool with a drop of Baby Bio Leafshine. I do this for all my house plants except cacti and succulents. I just don't do it very often!

I second carry it into the shower and spray whilst gently wiping with cotton wool. They love the humidity too!

Wash your palms to the shower or sink every few weeks to keep the foliage clean and pest free. When repotting Parlor Palms, loosen any roots that have become matted and dense either by lightly slicing through the roots or gently pulling them apart by hand.
