Anyone with succulent knowledge out there? How to help stretched succulent cuttings?

I got these cuttings of a pink Ice plants in the autumn and stupidly put them out of direct sun, thinking not to stress them while they rooted.

Now they've put on new growth but it's very stretched since they clearly needed more light. I've moved them into the brightest position I have (a few weeks ago now), and they've started to put out extra leaves around the lower leaves (as shown close up in second pic). I am wondering if I should just leave them as is, in the new bright position and hope they self correct, or should I pinch off the stretched growth above the point where the new leaves are coming out lower down?

I’m not sure what you mean by “pink ice plant”, and a bit difficult to ID from your photo as it is very etiolated (stretched). But yes, too little light has caused the etiolation. I think you can safely pinch off the top growth, move the plant to a spot with much more light (not easy in winter!), and hopefully it will grow more compact. It looks a little like a Delosperma, but really difficult to tell. I have some rooted Delospermas in the greenhouse, under the bench, and they are a little leggy too, but I’m not too bothered as they will correct themselves when better weather arrives - and they are hardy, so will go outside in a trough when spring arrives.

All succulents do best when given as much light as possible.

Thanks @NanTheWiser
It is a Delosperma Cooperi from here succulentplants.uk/product/delosperma-cooperi-pink-ice-plant-stem-cutting/

It is fully hardy but I was wary of trying to root it outside in winter so did it in the house, intending to harden off and move it permanently outside later this year. In hindsight this may have been a mistake. So you reckon I can pinch the leggy bits out now the cutting is growing? Great 😊

Ah, I was right! So, yes, I think you can safely pinch out the tops.

There are some lovely hybrid Delospermas called “Jewel of the desert” which come in a variety of colours, these are what I have, and they do very well in troughs and containers. Often found in garden centres in the alpine section.
