Can I fix this plant?

I bought this plant about 2 months ago, and for the life of me, I can’t remember it’s name. It is a trailing plant and begins with P.

When I bought it, I googled it’s care and it said to water roughly once a week, keep the soil moist but not too much, and don’t let it dry out. It also said it didn’t need a big pot, so I kept it in the one that came with it - there is the main pot and then a smaller plastic one inside, I guess to allow for drainage.

I last watered it 2 weeks ago, and the soil is till damp, but the leaves are drying out underneath. Looking at the roots, it looks like it now needs a bigger pot but I don’t know if the roots are healthy enough to move now and if it is even salvageable.

If I do repot it, I don’t know how to stop the soil retaining too much moisture, whilst still watering it enough to not dry out.

I keep it on a high shelf, not an overly bright area, but not too shady either.

Pics to come!

I'd report it and tease some of the roots at the same time into a slightly bigger pot.

I think one of the things when you have a pot within a pot us to check there is no water in the outer pot before watering, otherwise the plant ends up drowning.

I'm also assuming it's a houseplant, so I'd move it to a sunny place given the light levels are so low in winter.

It's not dead yet, so can come back with some TLC.

Oh and sometimes when plants are grown for a price, they tend to have several in one pot to look like it's a more established plant. Then all the plants start competing for resources. So I'd pot on to give it some more room.

Thank you! I will repot it and fingers crossed it will come back to life. It was a lovely looking plant until the latest watering.

Thanks for the tip about the outer pot too, I didn’t think of that

Oh and sometimes when plants are grown for a price, they tend to have several in one pot to look like it's a more established plant. Very frequent for Christmas poinsettias - what looks like a big bushy plant may turn out to be half a dozen just-rooted cuttings.
