Can this monstera cutting be saved?

I took a cutting of a lovely healthy looking monstera about a month ago. I stupidly soaked the soil and left it in the (very cold) conservatory. About a week ago I noticed it had gone yellow so moved it to the warm living room, thinking that it was too wet and not getting a chance to dry out.
Is it likely to pick up or should I just chuck it on the compost heap?

Can this monstera cutting be saved?

It doesn’t look good, does it? I would bin it if it were mine, I think.

No it really doesn't look good. I'm gutted as to me it was a free plant, now I'll have to buy one 😭

Give it a chance inside. Monsteras are virtually indisstructable.

BikeRunSki · 19/01/2021 21:51

Actually on second thoughts, it looks a bit past it.

I don't think it has much chance, but I would never bin anything until the stem has died. (I have quite a few slowly dying plants around the house Grin)

It does look a bit past hope, I think. Sad

Is it just a leaf , rather than a stem segment? Can you propagate monstera like that?

jamesfailedmarshmallows · 19/01/2021 22:44

Random sorry the photo isn't very clear, it is a stem segment. Mere the stem seems so healthy, so maybe I'll leave it another week 😁 Would feeding it make a difference?

No, never feed a sick plant, it won’t have the ability to process any feed. You could keep it for another week, but I think it’s a goner tbh.

MereDintofPandiculation · 20/01/2021 10:11

Would feeding it make a difference? Yes, that would probably turn it from a 1% chance of survival to a zero chance.

It looks buggered but give it a chance in a glass of water in a sunny spot. indoors so you keep an eye on it. I grow most cuttings in glasses of water: aloe vera, pelargonium, hoya, many succulents, plectranthus.

Do not feed it.
